Richard Aubrey Lucas, Jr., 60, beloved father, son, brother, and friend to many, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 7, 2020.

Richard spent his entire work life in the auto industry. He started his career at Jerry Hamm Chevrolet and ended it at Key Buick GMC, where he had been employed for 35 years. Richard (a/k/a Slim, Rick, Rich, Richie) loved to drive through the neighborhood making his rounds to check on everyone and have a beer and chat. He was an avid Jags fan and rarely missed a tailgate party with his friends. If the weather was nice, he was probably out riding his Jet skis or boating with friends/family. He loved and was loved by his family and numerous friends. His friendly smile and happy go lucky personality will be truly missed by all.

Richard is predeceased by his parents, Richard A. Lucas, Sr., and Joy Wynelle Lucas, along with his sister, Patricia Lucas. He is survived by his son, Kyle A. Lucas (Christina) and daughter, Kady A. Lucas; as well as his brothers Marc Lucas (Lori) and Gary Lucas (Tracy). Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, June 12th at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, June 13th in Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, with Pastor Robert "Bob" Hovey as officiant.

Our heart is heavy. We send our sincere sympathy to Kyle, Kady and the entire Family. We first met Richard at the elementary school and then spent some time at the ball field with our kids.
I could always depend on him blowing the horn as he drove by while I cut the yards.
But I am going to miss our curbside & driveway chats.
Richard we will surely miss you.

Pat worked with Richard throughout his 35 years at Key. Our daughter and Richards's son were born within days of each other. Richard and I would have discussions about who was the better NASCAR Driver. He liked Dale Earnhardt and I was a Bill Elliott fan. Pat and Richard would meet up and Jet Ski when they had a chance to. So many wonderful memories of Richard. We are just shocked and heartbroken over the sudden loss of such a beloved friend. We will not be able to attend the viewing or service but we will be praying for his Family and friends.

I first met Richie Rich at the Electric Cowboy 1982 ish...he tried to pickup my best friend Sylvia (turns out they were cousins). He was the sweetest guy ever except when wearing the CAPE.....on occasion 😂. He loved his family, his friends, all the babies and his Bud Light! I will miss you sweet Catfish until we meet again.... have a cold one with Pop! 😘
