He graduated from Fletcher High School and the University of Florida in 1970. He served in the U.S. Army Airborne, USAR. He worked in the medical/pharmaceutical industry for the past 35 years, retiring in 2008. He was known as “Odie” and/or Rick to his friends. He enjoyed a wonderful and active life, which included being in the outdoors where he enjoyed archery, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Sharon; Daughter, Elizabeth; Son, Steve: Brothers, Wayne and his Wife, Shawn, Bob and his wife, Trudy, and Mark; Sister, Sherri Henning; and many treasured friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.K. and Virginia Odum and brother C. David Odum.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Hospice of Northeast Florida on Sunbeam Road. A private ceremony will be held at a later date for the burial of his remains.
