Richard Nobles Ussery – passed away peacefully on July 22,2021 -Wonderful Husband, amazing Dad, friend for life. Compassionate, laid back, genuine are just a few ways to describe Richard. He was Born in Jesup, GA July 13, 1961 and after a brief period in Ocala, his family relocated to Jacksonville Florida. Richard attended Dupont Junior High and Wolfson Senior High where he excelled as an athlete playing Football and running Track. After graduating High school, Richard attended Valdosta State University where he was a member of Delta Chi and graduated with his BS Degree in Biology. He met the love of his life in 1986 and in 1987 they married and spent a wonderful life in Jacksonville raising their two beautiful children – Morgan and Luke. His whole life revolved around his family and so many years were spent watching Luke play baseball and Morgan dance. With his kids he enjoyed building and creating Christmas decorations, play houses, ramps, holiday projects, and making wonderful memories.
Richard was passionate about the beach and was so proud to finally be able to share with his wife their new beach home in Flagler.
He participated avidly for many years in the Gate River run and enjoyed playing the piano and hunting.
For 31 years Richard worked for St Johns River Power Park. His loyalty and work ethic were two things he was known best for and it paid off when he began his retirement in 2018.
Richard is survived by his wife Helen, children Morgan and Luke, his mother and father Fonda and Wayne Ussery, his brother Johnny Ussery (Cathy), brothers in law Mike and Joe Holeva, sisters in law Cathy Farrahi and Marie Holeva and his very special nieces and nephews.
