Richard Emil Zimmerman

Richard was born in the Township of Neptune, Monmouth County, New Jersey, on December 24, 1944, to Emil and Helen (Zyniewiez) Zimmerman. Although he retired from Florida Rock Industries some years ago, Richard continued working part-time driving cars for Enterprise, which allowed him to stay social. He enjoyed golfing with friends, fishing with his son, working on the many cars and boats he owned, and spending time with his granddaughter. He was also an avid football and racing fan.

Richard was predeceased by his mother, Helen; his father, Emil; and his brother-in-law, Tom Rocco. He is survived by his daughter, Kristy Demetres (Daniel), granddaughter, Lili, and son, Jeffrey Zimmerman, all of Jacksonville, Florida; his sisters, Marilyn Rocco of Jackson, New Jersey, and Linda Ward (Bill) of Fogelsville, Pennsylvania; and his brother, William Zimmerman (Karen) of Keswick, Virginia.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32211, on March 20, 2026, at 4:00 pm.
