Rita Faye Dillow (Thomas) age 61, a resident of Orange Park, Fl since 1990, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Haven-Custead Hospice Care Center. She was born October 17, 1957 in Lucedale, Mississippi.
She graduated from Flushing High School (Flushing, Michigan) as a member of the class of 1975 before moving to West Palm Beach, Fl in the 1980’s. Rita worked at The Palm Beach Post newspaper before moving to Orange Park where she worked for the Florida Times-Union. She retired from the Times-Union to start her own advertising agency, Native Intelligence and was the owner/publisher of a start-up community newspaper, The Fleming Island Messenger, for 6 years before retiring a second time.
Rita was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth F. Thomas. She is survived by her son, Adam (Jessica) Dillow, grandson, Rivers; mother, Faye Thomas, sisters, Beverly Thomas and Karin (Kevin) Coates, brother, Kenny (Misty) Thomas and was loved by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
