

Robert I. Roth, 74, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2010. Robbie was born and raised in Savannah, GA, the son of Hyman and Helen Roth. He attended the University of Georgia where he was a member of TEP Fraternity.
He was the charter president of the Bnai-Brith State Organization and also the past president of its Jacksonville Chapter. He was a founding member of Beth Shalom Synagogue, past president of Etz Chaim Synagogue, and founder and president of Torah Academy of Jacksonville. He was a prominent figure in the insurance industry for over 50 years. He was an avid runner, tennis player, chess player, and sailor.
A loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather, Robbie is survived by his loving wife, Sandi of 38 years; children, Ragen Shapiro (Harry) and Chaim Roth (Bryna); sister, Barbara Bailin (Gary); grandchildren: Yehuda Zev, Batsheva, Avraham Yaakov, Chana Devorah and one on the way; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held 12:30 PM Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Etz Chaim Cemetery (located in Arlington Park Cemetery) with Rabbi Yaakov Fisch officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Torah Academy or Etz Chaim.
