Robert “Bain” Alexander passed away January 11, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 83. Bain was born in Greensboro, NC on January 29, 1934, and grew up there. In 1956, he married Catherine Wilkinson, his companion for the next 56 years. After serving as a Lieutenant in the US Navy, he obtained a BS in Business from Duke University, followed by an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill. He moved to Jacksonville in 1969, where he began a 30-year career at American National Bank. Bain and Cathy were members of Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church since moving to Jacksonville. He loved fishing, family, traveling, golf and his Duke Blue Devils basketball team.
Bain is survived by his sister, Ann; 2 sons; and 4 grandchildren.
Arrangements entrusted to Hardage Giddens Oaklawn Chapel where the family will receive guests for a visitation Monday January 15, 2018 from 5-7pm. A funeral service will be held at Hendricks Ave Baptist Church on Tuesday January 16, 2018 at 11am, followed by interment at Oaklawn Cemetery.
