Robert Eugene Hazouri Sr.

April 14, 1937 – September 17, 2026

Robert E. “Bobby” Hazouri Sr., affectionately known to his family as “Giddie,” passed away peacefully on September 17,2026 in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 89. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

He was our Giddie and he loved God, his family, his music, and he approached each with a passion that never faded.

Born in Jacksonville to Neal Hazouri and Amelia Abraham Hazouri: Bobby grew up on Liberty Street in downtown Jacksonville. He graduated from Jackson High School, attended Jacksonville University, and later served in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Texas.

Music was one of the great joys of Bobby’s life. Largely self-taught, he learned to play the fiddle, guitar, and had an extraordinary memory for thousands of songs. His music brought him into the company of presidents, movie stars, professional athletes, and countless others; but what mattered most to Bobby was the happiness his music brought to people.

He was also a gifted storyteller with a lifetime of stories to share. Whether through a song, a memory, or a story told around family and friends, Bobby had a remarkable way of keeping the people, places, humor, and traditions of his life alive.

A hardworking entrepreneur and provider, Bobby founded his own electrical contracting company and built a life that helped support four generations of his family. Taking care of the people he loved was one of the greatest expressions of who he was.

Family remained at the center of his life. Bobby shared many years with his beloved first wife, Delaine, with whom he had two sons. Years after her passing, he was fortunate to find love again with Sandra, whom he also shared many wonderful years with. Both Delaine and Sandra preceded him in death.

Bobby knew how to enjoy life. He loved the thrill of the dog track, scratch-off tickets, Arabic food, sushi, good music, a good story, and time spent with family. He remained curious and continued learning until the very end.

Most of all, Bobby lived fully. He loved deeply, worked hard, took chances, played music, told stories, cared for his family, and blazed his own path every step of the way. However, the greatest constant in his life was his steadfast love for Jesus and his faith that he would one day be with his Savior in eternity. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was our Giddie.

Bobby is survived by his sons, Robbie E. Hazouri Jr. (Kimberly) of Lawtey, Florida and James E. Hazouri (Lisa) of Keystone Heights, Florida; His brother, Richard Hazouri(Jo); his grandchildren, Colby Hazouri (Kenshin), Whitney Keller (Clint),Tiffany Hazouri, Christian

Hazouri, and Donna Faith Hazouri; his great-grandchildren, Chance, Carson, and Cruz Keller; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Amelia Hazouri; his brothers, Neal Hazouri and Tommy Hazouri; his first wife, Delaine; and his second wife, Sandra.

Bobby leaves behind a family shaped by his love, generations strengthened by his hard work, stories that will continue to be told, and songs that will forever remind us of him.

He lived fully, loved deeply, made his own music, and never fort to bless someone with his favorite saying Allah ma’ ak (God be with you). To us, he will always be Giddie.

A visitation for Bobby will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with the burial to follow. The Reverend Terry Gore is officiating.
