
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Head, his daughter Hila Head, his sisters Carolyn Helquist and Marjorie Reishus, his brother Charles Head and 12 nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Marie Wheeless.
Bob was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Bishop Kenny High School in 1961. He received his undergraduate degree (1965) and Juris Doctorate (1967) from the University of Florida and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
He was a board certified real estate and business law attorney who practiced in Orange Park for 45 years. He was a Captain and Assistant Staff Judge Advocate in the US Army and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Qui Nhon, Viet Nam in 1969-1970; law clerk to Honorable Bryan Simpson, US Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit 1970-1971; Assistant State Attorney Fourth Judicial Circuit Jacksonville 1971-1972; Charter Member and former president of the Clay County Bar Association ; former member of the Executive Council of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar; Past Chairman of the Clay County Economic Development Council; and a founder and chairman of the Board of the former Heritage Bank of Orange Park.
He was a member and past president of the Orange Park Rotary Club and served on the boards of a number of community organizations including The Children’s Home Society of Florida, Buckner Division; Clay County Habitat for Humanity; Jacksonville Area Legal Aid; and the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Clay County.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Thursday, October 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the Garden Club of Jacksonville, 1005 Riverside Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32204.
