Robert Hayes Moore, Jr., age 86, passed away on Sunday, January 17th at Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside Hospital and was preceded to Heaven by his wife, Carole Moore. They are all comforted by his sure faith in the Lord Jesus.
He is known best as a life-long lover of golf, held his own golf tournament for 42 consecutive years, and became a member of the National Registry of Professional Golf Instructors just 3 years prior to his passing.
That love for golf came third in line next to his unconditional love for his family and devotion to the Lord, even receiving a Masters in Divinity. His life was a testimony of grace, and he rarely spoke an unkind word about anyone. He was appointed as a Deacon in his church while balancing work and a large family.
His work ethic speaks to us posthumously. He was the #1 salesman in the nation for multiple years as a pharmaceutical rep, and he made an amazing impression on doctors that lasted through the years and across two states. As a 2nd degree black belt twice over and an instructor of jujitsu and judo, he was a force to be reckoned with. Notwithstanding, he was an US Army Veteran-a fact of which he was extremely proud.
He is survived by his 6 adult children: Kaaran Roulo (Ricky), Rebecca Moore, Dan Moore, Linda Masci (Rob), John Moore, and Melissa Alagon (Ace). He is also survived by 11 grandkids, and 3 great-grandkids.
The family will be having a private ceremony at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, where he will be placed alongside his Baby Doll and wife of 51 years.
