SMITHRobert Richard Smith, age 49, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012. He is survived by his mother Carolyn Hatfield and step-father Samuel Hatfield; son, Benjamin (Essemia) Smith, Jacksonville; sister Pamela (Steve) Bushman, Los Angeles, CA; brothers Michael (Sarah) Harper, Jacksonville and Richard (Julie) Harper, Callahan and sister-in-law Debbie Harper, Jacksonville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by brother Edward Harper and sister Deborah Harper-Douglas. “Bobby was devoted to his son and his family. His employer and sponsors in Volunteers of America had the highest praise and regard for him. There was a new strength in him to succeed. He put family needs first. Our hearts are saddened.” The family will receive friends Saturday, March 10, 11am at the Garden Cloister Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery with funeral service to follow at 12 noon. Interment to follow.
