Robert Michael Tees, 73, passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2026, in Saint Johns, FL, after a brief fight with melanoma. Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA, on May 2, 1953, to Frank and Margaret (Maher) Tees and lived his formative years in Utica, New York. Graduating from Notre Dame High School in Utica, he remained in upstate New York where he obtained a Political Science degree from SUNY College at Fredonia. Soon after he met his wife, Christine, and they were married in 1979.
Bob was a quiet force that excelled in his career and life. He climbed the ranks - working the night shift of a paper manufacturing company to eventually becoming a leading expert in his industry. His quiet thoughtfulness and quick wit were a strength in his profession but also made him the best husband, father, son, and uncle (”UB”). He guided those who needed guidance, he gently helped when we didn’t know we needed it, he had an open ear to all, and was the example of what loyalty, honesty, and love means. Whether it was painting (many, many) walls, replanting gardens, guiding young scouts on a canoe trips, or caring for his loved ones in their time of illness, his presence alone made us feel safe. His life was complete with a Phillies or Eagles win, and he taught all of us that everything was (and is) better with a Manhattan or three.
Bob will be meeting his parents, Aunt Anna, best friend Tim, and dogs (Cassie, Shami, Jessie, Mandi, Sadie, Maggie, and Annie), but leaving in this world his wife, Christine Srour Tees, his brothers Walt Tees and Frank Tees, daughter Rebekah Mannschreck and son-in law Dave, son Michael and partner David Ecker, his grandsons Jaxson, Everett, Xander, and Zeke, as well as many nieces and nephews, friends, and former colleagues. We are saddened by his fast passing but comforted in knowing he will continue to be a guiding force from all that we have learned from him in this world.
In memory of Bob, please consider a donation to St Jude Children’s Research.
Visitation at Hardage-Giddens Funeral home will start at 9AM on 11/7/26, followed by funeral at 11AM at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church with a reception to follow. Please RSVP to the reception at btfuneralreception.rsvpify.com
