Born in Winchester, Virginia, Skip attended Forrest High School in Jacksonville, Florida, where he later became an Honorably Discharged veteran of the United States Navy, having served as a Boiler Technician.
Skip bought and later built up his own company, First Coast Courier Service, Inc. by the sweat of his brow, determination in his mind, and countless hours both in the office and on the streets. He loved being his own boss and always said, “If you want something done right, do it yourself”.
Skip was known by many for his sense of humor, but mostly he was known around town for his boots, beard, and ball cap. And don’t forget that ponytail too! Skip loved his FSU and Dallas Cowboys football and could be heard yelling at the TV “go boys go” many nights, while throwing that ball cap when a play went wrong.
Countless peers, cohorts, attorneys, judges, police officers, firefighters, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing his name, called him friend.
Skip is survived by his wife of 43 years, Doris Ann Trenary; three daughters, Cresent Borchardt, Angela Davis, and Shannon Trenary; one son, Aaron Trenary; five grandchildren, Crysten, Logan, Ashlee, Savannah, and Aariana; and one great grandchild, Luna. He is also survived by three brothers, Gilbert (Delores) Trenary of Morganton, NC, Bart (Joanne) Trenary of East Hampton, MA, and William Trenary of St Petersburg, FL, one sister Deborah Baumgardner of Martinsburg, WV, as well as many nieces/nephews.
Skip was preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Elizabeth Lillis-Trenary; Father, Cassius Fenton Trenary, Jr; and stepmother, Shirley Trenary.
A Celebration of Skip’s Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32223
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation, in his name if you so choose, to your local Police / Firefighters association.
