Roland F. Gardner

Roland F. Gardner, 76, of Jacksonville, passed away on December 25, 2011 at the Baptist Medical Center South. Roland was born on May 16, 1935 in Waynesboro, Mississippi to the late Archie and Ruby (Trigg) Gardner. He was a graduate of the Mississippi State University, and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Roland retired from Florida Power & Light where he worked as an Electrical Engineer and he was a Regional Supervisor. He volunteered for AARP doing tax preparation, and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting. Roland is survived by his loving wife, Joan Gardner. Additional survivors include his 3 sons, Mark F. Gardner; Thomas R. Gardner (Vicki); and Timothy L. Gardner (Kathy); his brother, Gerald Gardner (Peggy); his 6 grandchildren, Christopher and Michael (Cody) Gardner, Ryan and Justin Gardner, & Zachary and Jacob Gardner; and his great-grandchild, Jenna Gardner. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the Mandarin United Methodist Church, 11270 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Roland to the Mandarin United Methodist Church.
