On October 23, 2020, two days before his 71st birthday, Ronald F. Floyd went home to be with the Lord. He was lovingly surrounded by his wife, son, and daughter at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, Florida.
Ron was an Eagle Scout with a Master of Science in Biological Statistics from Vanderbilt University. He retired from Baptist Health in 2015 after 20+ years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church for 47 years where he served as a deacon and Middle School boys director. When Ron was 8 years old he accepted Jesus as his Savior on a Billy Graham Crusade train tour. His greatest joys in life were his family, his church, and the Word of God. During his last hospital stay he quoted Psalm 23 to his family and told them that he was reciting it over and over to himself when he could not speak. He has walked through the valley of the shadow of death and is now dwelling in the house of the Lord.
Ron is reunited with his father B. Clifton Floyd, Jr. and his mother Margaret Sullivan Floyd who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Rhonda, son Todd, daughter-in-law Tiffany, daughter Laura, grandchildren Caleb, Elisabeth, and Rebekah Kate, and brother Cliff. His family is sorrowful at their loss, yet always rejoicing because, according to the work and promise of Jesus Christ, they will one day be with him again in the presence of their Savior.
A Celebration of Ronald's Life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 5th at Christian Family Chapel, North Auditorium, 10365 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257. The family will receive guests beginning at 10 am.
