Ronald Eugene Washington

Ron, or as his family lovingly called him “Ronnie”, was born in LaGrange, Georgia on April 16, 1944. His family moved to Jacksonville in 1945 and have called the city home ever since. Ron was a loyal husband, father, and Granddaddy to 5 beautiful grandchildren. He gave his life to the Lord at the age of ten and has been serving the Body of Christ ever since by using his beautiful voice in the church choir at Southside Assembly of God and his employment at First Baptist for 30 years. Ron was a passionate fan of the Florida Gators and would cheer them on every football season. His love for God’s creation was known by all as he cared for every flying and furry creature, great and small.

Ron is predeceased by his father, Willie Washington Sr., his mother, Pearl Washington, and his three brothers, Will Washington, Wayne Washington, and David Washington.

He is survived by his wife Lynnette (Nelson) Washington, his sons Ron Washington (wife, Jenna Washington) and Matthew Washington (wife, Blakely Washington), and his grandchildren: Colton, Axel, Chandler, Caelia and Autumn. He will forever be remembered and loved by his sister, Jacquelyn Wilson, and his nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, held at New Life Christian Fellowship, 2701 Hodges Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida, June 10, 2023, viewing at 9am and service at 10am.
