

Roslyn Smith Tison, 88, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2012, at her home in Fleming Island, Florida surrounded by her loving family. Roslyn was born in Decatur County, Georgia on July 1, 1924 to the late Arnold E. and Edna Smith. She moved to Jacksonville in 1946 with her late husband, Berry W. Dodson. Roslyn worked for Gulf Atlantic Transport Corporation until her retirement in 1982. Roslyn married Lawrence McGill Tison of Callahan, Florida in 1984. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Lawrence; two daughters, Marsha Fletcher (Tan) and Susan Wood (Rick); six step-children, Carol Hawk (Ron), Lynn Fox (Danny), Kathy Smith (Roland), Larry, Travis (Zandra) and Aaron; fourteen grandchildren; Shawn (deceased) (Kathy), Lisa, Christopher (Chloe), Emily, Jeff, David, Casey, Laurie (Sean), Keith (Ericka), Brian (Nikki), Kara, Dana, Deanna and Suzanna and 15 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, always putting needs of others before her own. Special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of Haven Hospice for their loving care and support for our mother. Visitation will be held Friday September 21st at 10:00 AM with services following at 11:00 at Hardage-Giddens, The Oaklawn Chapel. Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery, Callahan, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 8301 Cypress Plaza Drive, Suite 119, Jacksonville, Florida 32256 or Christ's Church Fleming Island.
