Roy Brown Gill, 72, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017. Mr. Gill was a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Laura Gill. Roy was the youngest and last surviving of seven children. Roy was a father figure to many and his door was always open to everyone. He did not allow any fighting in his home and it was known as a safe place for those who were there. His surviving family includes: two daughters, Rebecca Brittain (Joseph) and Renee Clark (Erik); two sons, Ronald Gill and Richard Gill (Dana); six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue, with Rev. F. Ray Turner officiating.
