Roy David McDonald

Roy David McDonald, 80, passed away on Tuesday July 19, 2022 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his sons, Jesse D. McDonald, Christopher L. McDonald and Michael Henning; a daughter in law Diane McDonald; brother James R. McDonald; 11 grandchildren; 5 greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

Roy was born on August 15, 1941 to James W. McDonald and Lillon Louise Middleton McDonald in Fredericks County, Virginia. He had lived in Jacksonville for many years. He was a hard worker, handyman and jokester. Always harsh, but fair. He was a pinochle master and loved old western movies (especially John Wayne). For the last 30 years or more Roy could always be found wearing his suspenders. He would give to anyone in need. Roy David McDonald “fought a good fight” till the end.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Friday July 22, 2022 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave., Jacksonville, Fl. 32208. A Graveside service for Mr. McDonald will be 10:00 am Saturday July 23, 2022 in Restlawn Cemetery, 2600 Ribault Scenic Dr., Jacksonville, Fl. 32208
