Ruth M. Hogwood, 87, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019. Mrs. Hogwood was born in Petersburg, Virginia and had lived in Jacksonville most of her life. She was retired as a medical assistant with Dr. Jonathan Wood for over 20 years. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Whitfield; son, Butch Hogwood (Jeff Moore); brother, Jerry Whitehead; 3 grandchildren: Chris, Joseph & Emily; 2 great grandchildren, Olivia & Owen; and many other loving family and friends. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 10, at Evergreen Cemetery (Gate #1), with Pastor Joey Rountree officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials, in her memory, be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
