
Ruth’s was the fourth child born to Camilis and Florence Pacetti. She was born April 10, 1926. Ruth was preceded in death by her sisters Julia Mae Roach and Madeline Fogle and Her brothers Lee Roy Pacetti, Andrew Pacetti, and Douglas Pacetti.
She had a good childhood. When she was 16, she worked at Swisher Industries in Jacksonville rolling cigars. Ruth graduated Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville Florida. After graduating she worked for AT&T in their billing department. She was promoted several times.
Ruth met her future husband Henry Plaza in a little town called Bayard. They liked each other from the start. They were married in September of 1950. Henry was in the United States Air Force and Ruth followed him to the bases he was assigned. While stationed at Shaw Air force Base in South Carolina Ruth gave birth to a son named Michael. Two years later she gave birth to a son named Mitchell. Ruth followed Henry to Japan, Germany, Hawaii, Texas, Washington D.C. and Patrick Air Force base in Florida twice.
After Henry retired from the air force in 1975, he moved back to Bayard. Henry and Ruth lived a happy life together until Henry died in 2016. They were married for 66 years.
Ruth Plaza was a kind, generous and forgiving woman. She would often offer mercy instead of vengeance to those that offended her.
When failing to accomplish a task she would stop, leave the situation, pray to God for wisdom and strength, then go back and try again. If you believe in what you are doing, do not give up keep trying.
Ruth Plaza had a strong faith in God. She often said when you need help pray to God for help. Always keep trying and give it your best effort. Do not lie, cheat, steal or kill anyone. You will answer to God on the judgment day for these sins.
Ruth Plaza was the best mother anyone could ask for. She lived a long productive life. She made a lot of people happy where ever she went. Ruth Plaza made the world a better place for whomever she met.
Rest in peace Ruth Plaza you were the best.
Visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223, US, on March 10, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 11757 Old St Augustine Rd #2001, 2001, Jacksonville, FL 32258, US, on March 11, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, Old St Augustine Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32258, US, on March 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
