Originally from Macon, GA, she met the true love of her life (he was delivering the family groceries on his bicycle) and she later became his wife of 43 years and our amazing mother.
As stated, she was born in Macon GA on February 22, 1935 to Roy S and Annie M Lewis. She was 4th in a line of 5 children. She was always proud of her family and loved them with all of her heart.
She married Robert E. McCrary on October 1, 1951. They lovingly raised and cared for their 5 children and were married for 43 years before his passing in 1994. Mom worked for The Haskell Company once moving to Jacksonville, where she retired, and spent many previous years working in finance with companies like Sears Roebuck and Ford Motor Company in Atlanta, GA.
Her favorite times were anything that involved spending time with her family. Be it the spontaneous trips to camp in the mountains, where the whole family managed to spend the night on top of each other in the family station wagon, or a "quick" trip to San Antonio, TX to visit family. You never knew what the weekends were going to hold but she was always up for the challenge. Probably her favorite times were when ALL of the families came to our house on Sundays after church where the cousins played and the adults sat around and enjoyed each others' company. This was an EVERY Sunday event.

Her love for her family and life, her grit and determination to always make it fun, her laughter and true kindness to everyone she ever met will be truly missed. We can only hope this has been passed on through her children and it was obvious to everyone who knew her.
We love you Mom and will miss you every single day.
We want to express our appreciation to the staff at Heritage Crossings Assisted Living, Jacksonville for the love and care they gave to our Mom. We know she gave them a run for their money at times, but your love and kindness to her is so appreciated. Also to Community Hospice Hadlow Center for your help and compassion to her and our family in her final days.
