

Reverend Samuel Clayton Lee, 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, January 2, 2012. He was born and raised in Lavonia, Georgia. He graduated from Mercer University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served Southern Baptist churches in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida. He also served as Chaplain at Memorial Medical Center and later worked for Child Protective Services in Jacksonville, Florida. He retired from active ministry in 2001. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 ½ years, Caroline Gill Lee, children, Mary Catherine Garand (Don), David Lee (Michelle) and Melissa Woody (Bill) and eight grandchildren, Ryan Garand, Tessa Garand, Kenny Garand, Tyler Lee, Courtney Lee, Reece Woody, Regan Woody, and Will Woody. A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday January 7, 2012 at Hardage-Giddens 4115 Hendricks Ave. Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
Viewing/Visitation - 9:30am-11:00am, Memorial Service - 11:00am with a graveside service to follow. Those who desire may send flowers or make a memorial donation to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or a charitable organization of their choice.
