

Samuel Darrell Lewis, “Say Jay”, 87, November 22, 2025 passed away peacefully at his home.
Samuel “Say Jay” graduated from New Bern High School in North Carolina. After graduating high school, Samuel enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17 where he served for 3 years. Samuel “Say Jay” came out of the United States Army and reenlisted in the United States Navy where he served 26 years. Samuel “Say Jay” was continuing his education while serving in the United States Navy where he achieved professional development and degrees. After Samuel “Say Jay’s” retirement from the military, he proceeded to work for St Johns River power plant where he served 18 years.
Samuel “Say Jay” was dedicated to his church, Impact, as he served as a deacon.
Samuel “Say Jay” resided by his wife, Shirley Ann Lewis. They were happily married for 50 years. Samuel “Say Jay” is survived by many children to cherish his life: Terri Sheppard Rudd, Tina Scott Bristol (Nathaniel), Hattie Mansfield, and Natalie Scott Gray.
Samuel “Say Jay” has 12 grandchildren followed by 16 great grandchildren followed by 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Samuel “Say Jay” will be truly missed by all his loved ones and friends.

A visitation will be held at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, located at 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, 32207, on November 28, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at Impact Church, 9501 Arlington Expy, Suite 245, Jacksonville, FL, 32225, on November 29, 2025, starting at 11:00 am.
The committal service is scheduled for November 29, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, 32207, beginning at 1:00 pm.
