Samuel E. Short, 66, passed away on December 1, 2017. He was born on October 26, 1951 in Lawton, Oklahoma to his parents, Clyde and Erma Short. After the completion high school, he joined the Navy, and retired after 20 years as an ABH1. He joined the Free Masons and was a member of Rudolph Bradley Lodge #699 P.H.A.; he then later joined the Shriners.
He is survived by his wife Brenda, daughters; Marcia West (Felton, Michael, Kayla), Sandy Short (Michael, Koery,), and Iris Short, sons; Samuel and Jason, mother; Erma Short, siblings; Loretta Brown (Robert, Twila, Anthony), Judy Yarbrough (Charles), Denise, Lee, Howard and Trent Short.
He is preceded in death by his father Clyde, brothers; Clyde Jr., and James, sisters; Jerryann and Easter. Visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 at 10:00 am followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Committal Service will be held December 8, 2017 at 2:30 pm in Jacksonville National Cemetery 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218.
