Sandra N. McCann

Sandra Faye McCann passed peacefully on Saturday, June 2nd, surrounded by her loving family. Sandra fought a courageous battle with Ovarian cancer for five years. Sandra was born in Waycross, GA on May 26, 1942 to her parents, Harold and Elizabeth Norris. Sandra, an amazing and loving mother is survived by her children, Rick McCann, David and Amber McCann, Deana McCann Taylor, Jason and Andria McCann, as well as nine beautiful grandchildren, Garrett McCann, Logan McCann, Hayley Taylor, Jessica Taylor, Ben McCann, Claire McCann, Liam McCann, Alden McCann and Adalyn McCann. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Mohr, Pat Wingate, Marian Rice, Linda Welch, and her brothers, Harold "Sonny" Norris, Don Norris and Gary Norris. Sandra will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving mother, Maw Maw, sister, daughter and best friend. She worked in the medical field as an EEG Technician for approximately 30 years and focused the last 15 years working with and helping children at Nemours Hospital and Wolfson Children's Hospital. As the Supervisor of Neurology, she was instrumental in designing and operating their current EEG facility with financial contributions from the Mark Brunell Foundation. Sandra was an amazing person that lived life to the fullest, and despite her struggles with cancer, she always had a smile on her face, kindness in her heart and constantly put the welfare of others before hers. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 in the chapel at Oaklawn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service. HARDAGE-GIDDENS OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Blvd is serving the family.
