Sarah Emily Thompson passed away early Wednesday morning, April 26, 2017. She was born in Butts, Jenkins County, Georgia on July 13, 1940 to Margaret and John Wiggins. She was their first born, the eldest of six children. Sarah attended Andrew Jackson High School and she graduated from Florida Junior College. She was retired from the Duval County School Board.
Sarah was predeceased by her parents; her son, Gary Thompson; her ex-husband, Ronald Thompson; and her brother, Billy Wiggins. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Thompson (Danny Delk and his son, Josh); her sisters, Helen Smoyer (John), Martha Boots Boehm, Jean Baker (Edgar), and Joyce Carter (Earl); many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:30am-12:00pm on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel, 4115 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville, Florida 32207 with a service taking place at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
