Shawn Murphy Atkins

Shawn Murphy Atkins, 61, passed away on September 10, 2012. Born in Lake City, FL to the late Edward H. Murphy and Rou Busby Williamson, she was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Preceded in death by her husband of 16 years, Tom Atkins and her brother, Michael Murphy, she is survived by her son, Ty Titus (Kristen); daughter, Julie Clayton; sister, Patricia M. Brewer of Tallahassee; grandchildren, Candice, Nick and Hanna Clayton, Payton, Charlotte and Mikayla Titus; great-granddaughter, Lily Clayton; aunt, Daphine Busby; nephew, Jimmie Brewer (Paulina) and great nephews, Dillon and Dawson Brewer, all of Tallahassee; numerous cousins, family members and friends. Special thanks to Jim and Ellen Hammonds, Carolyn O’Steen, Bea Cowart, Sally Goodyear, Janet and Karen Metzger, Katy Spangler, Linda Devenney, and Jo Wilhelm for all of their love and support.  The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care and treatment Shawn received from Dr. Jeffery Bubis and his staff at Cancer Specialists of North Florida as well as the transfusion staff at Baptist South. A Celebration of Shawn’s Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 14th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
