Shirley Oliver Cook

COOK Shirley O. Cook, of Jacksonville passed away on August 3, 2010 surrounded by family. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne and retired from the U.S. Navy. He lived an extremely happy life with a permanent smile, always willing to tell one of his jokes. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Margaret J. Cook; sister-in-law Mary Dobson; brothers-in-law Harold Plummer and Doyle Doxsee and many siblings. He is survived by sister, Yvonne Doxsee; brother, George Cook of Marco Island; brother-in-law M.J. Dobson and sister-in-law Lena Plummer. He is also survived by his baby doll, Sheri Hotaling, son-in-law Don; two grandchildren Jessica and Michael; four extended grandchildren Casey, Caitlyn, Riley and Chase, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday August 7, at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Graveside services with Navy honors will be held Monday August 9, at 10:00 a.m. at Arlington Park Cemetery.
