I am in shock upon learning of Shirl's passing. I loved her like a sister, and hoped at one time that she would be. My most sincere condolences to her family. Sher was a beautiful, smart, caring woman, and her death is a great loss.

We are in so much shock about losing one of our very special friends, beautiful Shirl.  We all worked together at Citibank,
Southeast Bank, GMAC Mortgage and more.  She was my boss,
my friend, we were all like family and feel so bad that we did not know that she had passed.  We always talked about how much her family and her Mother meant to her and I know she was so very devoted to family.  Please know how sorry we are to hear about her passing and truly there is another angel in heaven.  Our prayers and condolences are with her Sons and family.  

I will miss you dear beautiful friend.  You are in heaven with the Angels as you were an Angel .  I have known Shirl for over 30 years and did not know of her passing until recently.  She will be truly missed as she was loved.  We used to have so much fun working at Citi Bank , South East Bank , Suntrust Bank, GMAC. We ladies were a tribe and over the years we all worked for several different banks and mortgage companies together.  I have talked to Shirl over the phone but have not seen her in ten years. She will be missed and she was loved.  She was truly a beautiful person inside and out. 

God blessed me with the best sister ever and I loved her every day of my life!  She was always there for me.  She took me on job interviews when I was just a kid starting out.  She planned and hosted my bridal shower and completely planned my wedding and reception.  She was always there for "her Noonie"!  That was the name she and Mom chose for my grandchildren to call me.   She remembered everyone's  birthday, and always sent the children a few dollars with their card!  The last time I saw her she asked if she had forgotten anyone's birthday!  She was a treasure who will be forever missed!  Love you, my Shirl!

I loved and still love her more than simple words express. She was the most considerate, loving and generous person you would ever meet. We spent many hours together since my issues with anxiety. She helped me every way she could. When our mother passed, she stepped right in and took over as family matriarch.  She was like super woman.  She could do everything. I honestly don't know how I will go on without her. We were pinky swear best friends forever. My dear sweet sister I was in no way ready to let you go, even though I know you're in the arms of our Savior and joyously happy. We'll be together again of course. Til then you take our love with you and we keep yours with us. Love through eternity. Brenda

I would be remiss if I didn’t give special attention to my dear sister Shirl (Greene).  For most of my life, she has always been there for me when I needed someone.  It didn’t matter what the reason was or the time of day.  Lest you think I received special attention, she was equally caring and available for just about everyone … family and friends.  However, the most amazing thing that she did for me and all of our family was to become the voluntary caretaker for my Mother after she was diagnosed with Dementia/Alzheimer’s.  Her unrelenting devotion and service continued year after year until our Mother’s death in 2012 just shy of her 90th birthday. I developed a keen understanding of just what she had to endure during the infrequent occasions when she needed some help and I spent the day with her at Mom’s.  It was a tedious, frustrating, continuous process of trying to keep Mom satisfied and to make sure she did what was needed to keep her healthy and happy.

Because of her persistent and dedicated commitment to Mother’s well being, our family could rest assured that our Mother’s care was in good hands.  One of my top priorities since then was to make sure that Shirl’s life was as comfortable and satisfying  a possible  She was a blessing to all of us and I thank God for her every day that she was a part of my life.
