

Shirley E. Lyle, 93, of St. Johns, FL went to her heavenly home to be with Jesus on November 6, 2024 at the Community Hospice Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring. She was born on October 18, 1931 in West Frankfort, IL.
She had unwavering faith in God and his goodness. She diligently worked to pass that faith on to her family. Shirley enjoyed playing golf and bridge, but dancing was one of her greatest joys, creating lifelong friendships.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving devoted husband Jerry Franklin Lyle and her parents Thomas P. and Wilma E. (Ozment) Riley. Survivors include two daughters Cheryl Davis and husband Jeff of St. Johns and Denise Lyle and wife Cindy Wendel of Jacksonville; two grandchildren Stephanie (Brandon) Taylor of Jacksonville and Steven (Teri) Davis of Fleming Island; three great grandchildren Liam, Kaylee, and Ashlyn Taylor, along with several cousins. She was a very special wife, mother, grandmother, and GiGi. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone whose life she touched.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel at 4801 San Jose Blvd in Jacksonville, with Pastor Bill Register officiating. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will start at 11 a.m. with a graveside committal service to follow. Interment will be Oaklawn Cemetery in Jacksonville.
