

Shirley E. Schinasi, 87, longtime resident of Jacksonville, passed away February 25, 2012. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Max and Betty (Gushkoff) Rothman and loving wife of Leon.
A dedicated bookkeeper, she worked for The Riverside Gown Shop for 40 years. An avid knitter and crocheter, she created beautiful memories for all family members and friends. She enjoyed bowling and many fun times playing mah jongg with her many friends. Shirley was a member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center and served as president of the Sisterhood. She also volunteered at River Garden Hebrew Nursing Home.
A loving mother, aunt and great aunt, she took great pride in her children. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Marilyn and Ilene, cousins, Madalyn and Billy, and many dear friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm today, (Monday), at New Center Cemetery, 43rd and Liberty St., Jacksonville, FL. Rabbi Jonathan Lubliner will officiate.
Memorials in her name may be directed to the Jacksonville Jewish Center, River Garden or the charity of your choice.
