Shirley Williams Toney

She took great joy in caring for her family and spending time with the people she loved. Born and raised in Waldo, Florida, she moved to Jacksonville after graduation, where she met and married her loving husband, John, and began her career at State Farm. During her years there, she formed many lifelong friendships and treasured the special moments, celebrations, and events they shared through the years. She was also an active member of Hogan Baptist Church before her health began to fail. She had a sassy sense of humor, and every conversation, laugh, and moment spent with her was a gift we will always treasure.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, John; and her younger daughter, Judith. She is survived by her daughter Paula (Johnny); her grandchildren, Jessica (Robert), Lawson Jr., and Evelyn; her treasured great-grandsons, Rob, Timothy, and Benjamin, whom she adored; her loving brother, Bobby; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

We will carry her love with us in the traditions she passed down and in the many memories we hold close. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

The family would like to thank the staff of San Jose Gardens Memory Care for the exceptional care they provided to Mom over the past two years.
