Stephen McNamee, 64, of Jacksonville Florida, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026. After graduating high school, Steve proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1986. Originally from New York, Steve was known for his quick wit and generosity, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
While living in New York, Steve was a dedicated member of the Coram New York Volunteer Fire Department for over 10 years. As a volunteer firefighter in the NYC area, Steve helped his fellow first responders search for survivors at Ground Zero on the days following 9/11.
Wanting to trade New York winters for the sand and sun, in 2005 Steve moved to the greater Jacksonville area. While living in Florida, Steve continued to serve his community through various businesses. He owned and operated A Classic Cut Landscaping for 15 years and then later opened Superior Softwash in 2022.
Steve is predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Patrick, and his sister, Theresa. Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Paula, his brother, Arthur(Jean), and his nephew, John.
A private celebration of life in Steve's memory will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Stephen's family asks that you make a donation in his name to K9s For Warriors. This organization combines two important things to Steve, helping veterans and saving shelter dogs.
