Stephen Clay Smith

Stephen Clay Smith, 46, passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2017 in Jacksonville. Clay was born and raised in Jacksonville, graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1989 and has worked in the moving business for many years. He was an avid “Gator” fan and enjoyed all sports.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James Q. and Ann S. Teachey, the paternal grandparents, Edmond and Sarah Smith, and his best friend, his dog, Shorty.

Survivors include his mother, Marcia Teachey Smith; father, Clifton J. Smith (Patsy); sister, Laurie Ann Lee; his closest and namesake uncle, Gary Stephen Teachey and uncles Bill and Lee Smith; numerous cousins, loving family and friends.

A Memorial Service for Clay will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Jacksonville, FL with Pastor Eddie Lockamy officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Clay’s name to the Jacksonville Humane Society, 8464 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32216.
