WELL, STETSON, HERE WE ARE AT 2/25/2013!!!!  IIT'S BEEN RAINING FOR DAYS NOW....I REMEMBER HOW SAD THE RAIN WOULD MAKE YOU FEEL.  I CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA, BY TELLING YOU THAT RAIN IS GOD'S WAY OF CLEANING BIRDS NEST, YOU LAUGHED, BUT, I HOPE, THAT SILLY THOUGHT MIGHT HAVE HELPED YOU THROUGH THE THUNDER WHEN IT FRIGHTENED YOU.  MISS YOU EVERY DAY, MY OLE FISHIN' BUDDY.........EVERY DAY

My uncle, Jerry Hart, (now deceased) was one of Mr. Kennedy's best friends and lived next door to him in Fruitcove for years.  When I was a rookie author-vendor at The St. Augustine Heritage Book Festival a couple of years ago, Mr. Kennedy graciously came out from a lecture he was attending to speak to me, "Jerry's niece."  What an act of humility and sterling example of Southern graciousness!  May he rest in peace. Nancy Murray.

My condolences to the family of Stetson Kennedy. Mr  Kennedy's work is commendable. God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him. Acts 10: 34-35

Mr. Kennedy is a wonderful part of history that should be taught and remembered.  We are all grateful for the work he and others like him did.  I hope that Psalms 37:9&10, which show that the meek will inherit the earth, helps bring comfort to his family and friends.

As a Floridian I will always be grateful that I got to know one of our true homegrown anti-racist, anti-fascist heroes.  Stetson Kennedy was a tough, determined freedom fighter with a keen sense of humor, a man of the earth and a man for the people. As we go forward with our lives, it will behoove us all to think on ways that we can be like Stetson.  May his example help us summon the courage, the humility, and the dignity to channel the fire in our bellies into ideas and actions that stand against fear-mongering, brutality and tyranny, and make positive change in this world. Brothers and sisters: be like Stetson!

We were so blessed to have had a man of his bravery and love of his brothers to do this in history with the stakes of his life  and family at hand .god bless people like him and thank you.

One of my great memories is spending a night at Beluthahatchee with my family, enjoying a home cooked meal prepared by Stetson, watch him feed the birds on the deck in the morning, and of course hear his wonderful stories.  Sandra you are in our thoughts. Stetson wanted to go out in the struggle and he certainly did. What a life to celebrate.
