Sylvia Schmidt Cronin

Sylvia Schmidt Cronin passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024 at the McGraw Center for Hospice Care. Sylvia was born November 15, 1935 in Bogalusa, LA., the oldest child of Henry & Anne Schmidt. At the age of 2 the family moved to Jacksonville and Sylvia became a lifelong resident. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School (1953) and UNF (1981). Sylvia was a longtime member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and more recently joined Grace Lutheran Church. Sylvia is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert V. Cronin, Sr., her children Robert Cronin, Jr (Michelle) and Julie Ulland (Scott), grandchildren Alexa Sobeck (Zachary) and Bailey Cronin. She is also survived by her siblings Kathryn Woodfin, William Schmidt (Marilyn), and John Schmidt (Dianne). A memorial service will be held Saturday June 15th at 11:00 am Grace Lutheran Church, 12200 McCormick Rd, Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Community Hospice & Palliative Care, McGraw Center 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
