Sylvia T. Hecht

Sylvia T. “Tootsie” Hecht of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on October 7, 2014. Born May 3, 1916, Tootsie was a lifetime member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center and Hadassah. In 1936, she graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. She was married to her husband, Milton Hecht, for 68 years.

Tootsie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton; and her son, Stuart Hecht. She is survived by her sister, Helen Diamond; children, Larry (Rose) Hecht and Rozie Hecht; grandchildren, Faye (Dan) Hedrick, Benjamin Hecht and Jacob Hecht; and great-grandchildren, Milly and Ellen Hedrick.

She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services were held October 8, 2014 at New Center Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida and officiated by Rabbi Jonathan Lubliner.

Donations may be made to the Milton & Sylvia Hecht Fund at the Jacksonville Jewish Center.
