Tamara Arafelova, 84, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019. She was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, USSR on July 28, 1934. In college, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and went on to have a career as an Elementary School teacher and a Middle School teacher. Tamara was married to Genrikh Arafelov in 1954. She was a devoted member of Lakeshore Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, and enjoyed teaching the children of the church how to read and write in Russian. Tamara was a loving mother and grandmother, and her family and friends will miss her dearly.
Tamara is survived by her son, Vladislav Arafelov and her daughter, Nina Galustova. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Boris and Sergey, and her great-grandchildren, Ember and Kipling. She was predeceased by her husband, Genrikh Arafelov.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
