Teresita “Tita” Alcaraz Gorospe, age 79, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2019 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Tita graduated from the University of Santo Tomas and began a career as a teacher in the Philippines. She married her beloved husband, Cesar, in 1963 and they moved to the United States in 1968. She was a long time resident of Jacksonville, FL where she raised her family. Tita will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving and caring woman whose generosity touched many. Tita was a devoted Catholic who provided constant love and attention to her husband, children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Cesar Gorospe, long time Anesthesiologist at St Vincent’s Medical Center; her three children Mrs. Genevere (Gigi) Moore, Dr. Julius (Jojo) Gorospe and Mrs.Theresa (Trixie) Reinhold; her sons-in-law, Mr. Travis Reinhold, Mr. Scott Moore and Dr. Ron Carzoli; and her grandchildren, Jonathon and Christian Lillard, and Maya, Tyler and Derek Reinhold, all of whom she adored. She was predeceased by her father, Manuel; her mother, Milagros; her sister, Rosario,and her son Chester. She was also a loving “Lola” to her step-grandchildren, Tricia and Jordan Cooper, Jessie, Ty, Joey and Alisha Carzoli and step great-grandchildren, Riley, Paige, Caleb and Rosie Cooper. In addition she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to caring for her family, Tita enjoyed playing tennis with her girlfriends and taking long walks at the family beach house. Tita will be remembered by all as a sincere, kind, generous, loving woman who always wanted to help those in need. She lived an exemplary life always adhering to her Christian values.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Tita’s favorite charity: St Jude Children’s Research Hospital http://giftfunds.stjude.org and under “Search Funds” enter “Tita Gorospe Memorial Fund”. A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Hardage-Giddens, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville.
