Terry Boyd Caldwell

Terry Boyd Caldwell, age 78, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Terry was born on September 15, 1944 in Dyersburg, TN to Malcolm and Doris Caldwell of Spartanburg, SC.

Terry was a 1962 graduate of Englewood High School. He went on to serve in the United States military as an Army Officer. After his service, he attended Jones College in Jacksonville and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Management. Terry worked in commercial insurance sales at New Hampshire Insurance Company and Tullis Insurance for the first part of his career and then went on to work as an Electrical Contractor.

Terry was married to his high school sweetheart, Brenda, on August 27, 1964 and together had two daughters. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Terry was a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and on numerous committees including the Worship Leader Search Team. Terry loved his Church and members and will be remembered for reaching out to whoever was in need. In his spare time, he loved to travel, spend time on the water, and take road trips in his Porsche. But his greatest love was the love he had for his family and took advantage of any opportunity he had to spend time with them.

Terry is survived by his wife, Brenda, daughters Allison (Chip) Blake and K. Page (Tom) Connolly, grandchildren Joshua Blake, Kristin Blake, Caldwell Connolly, and Caitlin Connolly, brother Jan Rodney (Toni) Caldwell and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and doctors of Mayo Clinic Critical Care and ICU departments.

A funeral service for Terry will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Deermeadows Baptist Church, 9780 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL with Pastor Larry Yarborough officiating. Visitation will be held in the Founders Hall beginning at 10:00 am and following the service, a graveside internment at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 SAN JOSE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32207.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida or to Dearmeadows Baptist Church.
