

Theadore Carl Walton, born October 7, 1928, went home to be with his Lord on April 14, 2026. Son of the late Max and Zelma Plemmons Walton, Ted was born in Ripley West Virginia and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio, along with three sisters and two brothers.
Ted joined the United States Marine Corps in 1948, rising through the ranks from Private to Major. He was always called Carl until 1948 when he left home. September 14, 1950, he married the love of his life, Alice Jordan. During their 69 years of marriage, as a United States Marine Corps officer, they moved many times. After Ted’s retirement, Ted attended Roanoke Bible College (now Mid Atlantic Christian University) and later spent several year volunteering at the college. He also served interim ministries at the Roanoke Acres Church of Christ, Manteo, North Carolina and Capital City Church of Christ in Richmond, Virginia. They lived in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, until 1989 when they moved to Jacksonville Florida.
Ted was a devoted husband and father. He loved the Lord, was a Sunday School teacher for many years, and was a member of Englewood Christian Church.
Ted is survived by daughter, Joy Walton Tison (Greg) and son, Ted, Jr. (Mary), grandchildren Jessica McMullen (Christopher), Ryan Bright (Courtney), Katie Walton and Amy Watts (Jimmy), six great-grandchildren, Maximilian Walton and Madeline McMullen, Riley (Nadia), Mila and Avinly Bright, and Lyanna Watts, and great-great granddaughter Kacey. He was preceded in death by his Great Granddaughter, Allison Elizabeth McMullen and Step-Granddaughter Hannah Sexton.
Memorial Service will be at Mandarin Church of Christ, 12791 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, Florida, Saturday April 25, 2026; visitation 10:00 am and service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ted’s memory may be made to Mid-Atlantic Christian University.
