Theresa L. Dobbings

Theresa L. Dobbings, 82, was born in Lebanon, KY, she moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1985 from Lakeland, FL, where she was a resident for 28 years. She retired from H & R Block, where she was a tax preparer for many years. She was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. She died of complications from COPD in Hackettstown, NJ. She had moved to New Jersey in June 2014 to live with her daughter. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Dobbings, in 2007. She was also predeceased by her parents, Guy and Lucy Luckett, a brother, Edward Luckett, and a sister, Gertrude Brady. Survivors include her devoted children, David Dobbings of Lakeland, FL and Dawn McDermott and her husband Jim of Long Valley, NJ, and her loving grandchildren, Scott, Andrea and Valerie McDermott.She is also survived by a sister, Millie Ewing, and four brothers, Vernon, Pat, Newt and Michael Luckett, as well as many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 am Friday, February 17, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32256, with Father Tim Cusick officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph’s columbarium,4214 Loretto Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32223
