

Thomas Lowell Dent, Jr., 56, passed away suddenly at Shands Hospital in Starke, Florida, on Friday, April 1, 2011. Tom, born December 21, 1954 in Miami, grew up in Jacksonville and settled in Starke, FL. He graduated from Episcopal High School, attended the University of Florida and graduated from South Georgia College. In 1985 he married his beloved wife Shelley J. Woodall. He most recently worked as a Regional Sales Manager at Commercial Scaffolding Sales, Incorporated. He is survived by his wife Shelley Woodall Dent; her children, Lindsey Crouse Farrant and Nicholas S. Crouse; daughter Scarlett Sullivan Dent; grandchildren, Easton Sullivan Lowery, David Glenn Farrant and William Everett Farrant; father and stepmother, T Lowell and Mary Dent; brothers, James Gregory Dent, David Richard Dent, Douglas Ford Dent, William Henry Dent, Paul Alexander Dent; and nine nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his mother Carole Sullivan Lassiter and his stepson Matthew Everett Slate. A reception and celebration of Tom's life will be held Saturday, April 9th at the Ribault Club on Fort George Island from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Douglas, Georgia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, 304 Coffee Ave. S., Douglas, GA 31533 or a charity of your choice.
