Thomas Barton Finch

Thomas was born to Charles Barton (C.B.) and Edna Finch in Jacksonville, Florida on August 24, 1934. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville and joined the United States Army shortly after graduation in 1952. Tom served in the army for three years achieving the rank of sergeant and completed his term of service in 1955. After the military, Tom married the love of his life, Teresa Avery. They were married in June of 1955 and began a life together which lasted seventy-one years. Tom graduated from the University of Florida and began his career as an accountant. He loved the Florida Gators and Golf. There were many days spent with family and friends on the golf course and Florida football was always a topic of conversation. Most of all he loved Jesus and was an active member of Brentwood Baptist Church in his younger years and First Baptist Church of Jacksonville for the past 40 plus years.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents C.B. and Edna Finch, his sister, Joy Finch and his grandson Rob Finch. Tom loved his family with his whole heart. He will be missed so much by his loving wife, Teresa of Middleburg, Florida, four children, Donna and her husband Joe of Middleburg, Florida Charles and his wife Margaret of Orlando, Florida, Bob of Dallas, Texas, and Pam and her husband Mike of Jacksonville, Florida; Grandchildren, Kim, Stephanie, Rachel, Brian and Alex. Seven great grandchildren Lilly, Daniel, Katie, Brandon, Ethan, Aiden and Aubrey, and two great-great grand-children, Abby and Lilly. Our family would like to thank the medical staff of Orange Park Medical Center and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care our loved one received while he was a patient there.

Visitation will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211, US, on October 16, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
