Thomas Boyd Moody(Boyd), 72, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2018 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Boyd grew up in Jacksonville, Florida in the St. Nicholas area where he attended Assumption Catholic School with his six siblings. He later attended Severn, Bishop Kenny High School, and St. Leo University. Boyd worked for his father in the family businesses, M.D. Moody and Sons and Moody Brothers of Jacksonville(now known as Mobro Marine, Inc.) His passions were deep sea diving, international travel, water skiing, snow skiing, boating, fishing and collector automobiles. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter, two grandchildren, and dog CoCo.
Boyd is predeceased by his father Maxey D. Moody Jr. and his mother Dorothy J. Moody. He is survived by his daughter Marjanna Christina Moody, two grandchildren Avalon and Skylar, and former wife Marjanna Blankenvoort. Other family members include six siblings Maxine M. Rowland, Maxey D. Moody III, Richard Michael Moody, Elaina Moran, Joseph Moody and Angel Throop. He has many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews who lovingly refer to Boyd as "Uncle Termite".
Rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 5:30pm with visitation between 6pm-8pm located in Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32207 and a Catholic Mass will be held on Wednesday April 25 10:30am at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. Burial will follow mass at Oaklawn Cemetary 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville Florida 32207. The family requests either flowers, or donations made to a Catholic charity of their choice.
