Age 51, died on October 31, 2019 at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, after a long courageous battle with Leukemia.
Tim was born on September 3, 1968 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Cherie and David Baumgartner.
He graduated from Western Hills High School in Cincinnati and moved to Jacksonville, Florida with his parents in 1988.
In 1993 Tim enlisted in the Navy and after boot camp saw the Mediterranean countries from a ship.
Tim was an active member of Jacksonville Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 234 and also was employed as a Corrections Officer at the Florida State Prison in Raiford.
Tim is survived by his very loving and devoted wife Michele and their five children - Ashley, Wesley, Cheyenne, David and Tiffany plus seven grandchildren - Chase, Christian, Jay, Mckenzie, Charlotte, Chevy and Amaya. The grand kids called Tim “PaPa Bear”. He is also survived by his sister Christine Brown of Newnan, GA, brother Jeff Spenner and his parents, Cherie and Ted Spenner, his Uncle, Tim Matthews, (whom he is named after) and his wife Sandy of Callahan. Tim was preceded in death by his father David Earl Baumgartner of Cincinnati, maternal grandparents, Thelma and Earl Stinebaugh of Jacksonville and Grandfather Fred Matthews (wife Sylvia still living) of Lafayette, IN, and his paternal grandparents, Mary and Ralph Baumgartner of Cincinnati, OH.
Tim had a very huge compassionate heart and loving personality. He touched so many lives (even people that did not know him) with his generosity and passion for life. He had the ability to sense when people needed his help. He loved dogs and most recently had two, JarJar and Max, and he always helped to care for his parents’ dog Fancy. Tim loved to travel through the mountains and wanted to plan a trip to Colorado. He also loved the Florida Gators and was enthusiastic this year about the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Tim had many hobbies - he loved shooting, listening to music (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kiss, Metallica, 38 Special) and he followed current politics very closely. He grew his hair long to attend the Kiss concert in Jacksonville in April and his family never could talk him into cutting it after the concert.
