

Born in Wauchula, Florida to John Lakes and Elizabeth Gribbins, she lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida, where she graduated from Andrew Jackson high school, and met her husband of nearly 60 years. She was a loving homemaker, devoted, mother, volunteer, and worked in the financial industry when her children were older. Upon retirement, she enjoyed taking cross country trips with her husband and taking her grandchildren to amusement parks. She was an avid reader and loved collecting figurines.
Tommie will be missed by her husband of 59 years, Romie Eason, son Michael Eason, daughter Kimberly Allison (Paul), grandson Jacob Eason, granddaughter Kaitlyn Armstrong (Joshua), grandson Noah Eason, sister Shirley Turner, brother James Lakes (Doris), sister Mary Lakes, and numerous other family members and friends.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, located at 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223, United States. The service is scheduled for February 3, 2026, at 11:30 am. Interment will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 at 2:30PM following the service.
