Troy’s story began on May 16, 1974 in West Palm Beach, Florida, the eldest child to Robert Noble and Virginia Marion (Black) Rinks. Growing up, he had a love for the outdoors. Troy became very involved with the Boy Scouts of America, along with his father, where he made many lifelong friends. Troy reached the highest rank of “Eagle Scout” by the time he was fifteen. As a faithful member of The National Order of the Arrow, he received The Founders Award, and also held the position as Chief Officer of the Gulf Stream Council, Aal-Pa-Tah Lodge 237.
Troy attended Forest Hill High School, where he was captain of the cheerleading squad, and led his team to first place at the state championships. He graduated with the Class of 1992, showing his enthusiasm with a back flip while accepting his diploma! After graduating, he continued his involvement in Boy Scouts as the Tanah Keeta Camp Director, and ran the Hitchiti Dance Team. Troy attended Palm Beach Community College and later Florida State University.
After college, Troy moved to California. His deep love for movies led him to start his own production company called Piercing Arrow Productions. He enjoyed writing his first screenplay, “The Chosen One”, in which he took on the roles of director, producer, actor, and costume designer. He spent time in Branson, MO, before moving back to be near family in Jacksonville, Florida. Throughout Troy’s life, he worked in the service industry as a bartender/server and in restaurant management. Troy was renowned for his cooking and baking, and enjoyed creating new recipes for the ones he loved. Troy had many other passions; you could almost always find him planning a new travel adventure, quoting his favorite songs or movies, or spending quality time with family and friends.
Troy will be remembered for his fun-loving and sarcastic nature. Loved ones that will miss Troy until they meet again are his parents, Robert and Virginia Rinks, sister and sister-in-law, Barbi and Lynette Rinks, niece, Greylyn Rinks, and a host of extended family and friends.
