Vicki Lee Kligerman Wengrow, 84, passed away peacefully at home in Jacksonville, Florida, on July 13, 2026, with her daughter holding her hand.
Born on July 8, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Vicki was raised by her mother, whose strength and determination helped shape the compassionate, independent woman she would become.
Vicki earned her bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Florida and later completed a master’s degree in English. She made Jacksonville her home for more than 60 years, where she built both a life and a legacy rooted in service, advocacy, and healing.
As the owner of Wengrow’s Body Therapy, she worked as a licensed massage therapist beginning in 1978. With gentle hands and a kind heart, she helped thousands of people find comfort, healing, and peace.
Vicki proudly identified as a Jewish lesbian and a witch. She believed deeply in equality, justice, and the dignity of every person. Throughout her life, she was a passionate advocate for women’s rights and LGBTQ + rights. Vicki was a co-founder of Beth Shalom Synagogue, Hubbard House, and the Jacksonville chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW), among many other causes close to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Aling Gottlieb; her father, Sidney Kligerman; and her cousin, Jordan Good.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca Wengrow Fixel; her granddaughter, Abigail Lois Fixel; her cousin in Camarillo, California; and countless friends, clients, and loved ones whose lives were forever changed by her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering compassion.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Community Hospice & Palliative Care for their exceptional care and compassion, allowing Vicki to remain comfortable in her home during her final days, surrounded by love.
The family invites all who knew and loved Vicki to share a favorite memory or condolence on the Dignity Memorial website. These messages will become a treasured gift for years to come.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hubbard House or The LJD Jewish Family & Community Services in honor of Vicki’s lifelong commitment to supporting women, families, and the community she loved.
Vicki lived authentically, loved fiercely, and never stopped fighting for a more compassionate and equitable world. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the enduring impact of the causes she championed.
Chapel Services will be held at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, US, on July 16, 2026, at 10:00 am.
A Commital Service will take place at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Cemetery on July 16, 2026.
